Joseph Hunter, Senior Trial Lawyer

Joe received his Doctor of Law degree from Rutgers University School of Law and has been a practicing member of the State Bar of California since 1988. With over 30 years’ experience as a trial lawyer, this dedicated Irvine employment law attorney specializes in both class action and single-plaintiff employment litigation and consumer protection litigation matters. As a litigator, he has handled myriad large-loss commercial, industrial, business, employment, and consumer incidents and claims, premises, and product liability litigation, including national and international Consumer Product Safety Commission recalls, wrongful death, and catastrophic claims. His extensive experience includes performing consulting engagements and liability counsel in domestic and international venues throughout Asia, China and Japan, Europe, the United Kingdom, and both the North and South American Continents, providing cumis counsel and Crisis Response Team services regarding commercial and natural disasters for a host of Fortune 500 corporations including Bank of America, Ford Motor Company, Seagram & Sons, Vivendi Universal, and IBM.

Mr. Hunter is involved in all practice areas at Badame Law Group, where he is regularly engaged in litigating employment claims ranging from wrongful termination to harassment, hostile work environment, wage, hour, and benefits claims, and all forms of discrimination-based claims on behalf of both employees and corporate employer clients. His transactional experience encompasses business services including negotiation and drafting of corporate and commercial transactional agreements, advice & counsel, development of business deal structures and supporting documentation; lease negotiation; development of executive employment packages and agreements; and management and negotiation of severance/hiring decisions. He has extensive experience in drafting and developing employee handbooks, policies, and related materials; managing reduction in force events; and litigation supervision. His batting average with the United States Patent Office regarding Trademark, Servicemark, and related claims and application prosecution for business clients is impeccable.

In addition to his commitments to his family, Joe enjoys coaching the local high school’s Varsity ice hockey and roller hockey teams as well as “travel/club” and “house league” level squirt, peewee, and bantam ice hockey teams, along with providing staff/coaching services for FCA hockey camps. Off the ice, Joe has held the position of Corporate General Counsel and Chaplain for CMI, a not-for-profit organization providing services to the Motorsports Racing industry, including the NHRA for over 10 years. This diverse experience has broadened Joe’s flexibility, adaptability, and knowledge base, enabling him to counsel his clients with passion, compassion, and good, solid common-sense approaches to legal challenges.
